Welcome to our practice. These are truly exciting times in the field of cosmetic dermatology and surgery. I strive to bring you the best and latest advances in lasers and cosmetic procedures with the utmost commitment to patient safety. I see every patient myself and treat every one as a family member. You should not settle for anything less.
I completed my undergraduate studies at Harvard University, followed by my medical school training at NYU School of Medicine where I received my doctorate of medicine. I then completed my residency at Lenox Hill Hospital and went onto finish my dermatology residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York where I served as a chief resident. I then completed a fellowship in laser and cosmetic surgery, and Mohs Micrographic Surgery for specialized skin cancer removal, at the Laser and Surgery Center of La Jolla in California.
I am fortunate to have been involved in the research and development of a number of laser systems in my career. I have treated more patients with the Fraxel laser, a non-surgical procedure that leaves patients with new and healthier skin, than any other physician in the world. I was an early investigator of the Fraxel device and have lectured on laser resurfacing throughout the world and introduced Fraxel to Australia, Asia, Europe, and South America. The Fraxel laser treats various skin conditions including sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, uneven pigmentation, as well as reduces the appearance of acne and acne scars. Because it treats microscopic sections of skin tissue at a time, it can penetrate deep into the layers of skin and stimulate the body’s natural healing process. Ultimately, this replaces damaged skin with youthful, smoother and healthier skin.
I have significant experience with acne and acne scar patients and have published research on the treatment of acne scars and other scars with fractional resurfacing using the Fraxel laser. I have also presented research on the treatment of acne, traumatic and surgical scars using Fraxel laser surgery at the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. I have also been a panel expert on fractional resurfacing, where I provided insight, recent findings and the most up-to-date research at the International Society of Cosmetic Laser Surgeons.
I have also invented the non-surgical nose job and the non-surgical eyelift, revolutionary procedures that restore years back in just minutes. My work has been featured on Good Morning America, USA Today, InStyle magazine,e and more. After extensive work with rhinoplasty injection, or non-surgical nose jobs, I presented “A Study of Injectable Hydroxyl Appetite (Radiesse) for Nasal Contouring” at the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery where it was well received. I have also performed a non-surgical nose job procedure on the Rachel Ray Show with a live audience.
We offer the latest in minimally invasive cosmetic procedures and are the premier New York City boutique practice, including popular injections such as Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport; as well as fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane, Sculptra, Radiesse, and Voluma XC, the newest cheek augmentation treatment. I see patients from all over the world including Asia, Europe, South America, and the Middle East who fly into New York City for their consultation. I also practice in Garden City on Long Island in order to offer patients another convenient location. We have a list of local hotels and accommodations for patients who wish to travel to either our Manhattan or Long Island location. Among the revolutionary non-surgical procedures offered at the center are laser liposuction for fat reduction and body contouring.
We were the first in the tri-state area and among the first in the country to offer CoolSculpting by Zeltiq for non-surgical fat reduction, a revolutionary procedure that freezes fat away from the outside. We were also the first practice in the country to offer Liposonix as a treatment option for non-surgical fat reduction. We offer both Ulthera and Thermage for skin tightening on the face and body. Laser technology has advanced so quickly since its introduction. Laser resurfacing with Fraxel Re:store and repair lasers are significant breakthroughs for treatment of wrinkles and acne scars.
We also offer more of the most advanced lasers for various medical and cosmetic treatments, such V-Beam Perfecta for the treatment of vascular lesions, as well as Alex-Trivantage for treatment of pigmented lesions and tattoos in addition to laser hair removal. I conducted the early trials on portrait resurfacing as well.
Recently, Castle Connolly Medical, Ltd., a trusted source for patients to find the best health care, selected to include me in their exclusive list of top doctors for the third year in a row. After being nominated by physicians and healthcare professionals, my credentials, medical research and the care I render to patients granted me this highly esteemed honor.
Physicians that are selected for the 15th edition of Top Doctors: New York Metro Area, represent the top 10 percent of physicians in 65 medical specialties and subspecialties throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. I was selected as a top doctor in the field of dermatology among tens of thousands of nominations. After being nominated by peers, physicians are the selected by Castle Connolly’s physician-led research team based on a critical evaluation of the physician’s medical education, training, hospital appointments, disciplinary histories and more. My other notable accolades include being selected as a Castle and Connolly Top Cosmetic Doctors, 2012, 2013, and 2014; US News and World Report Top Doctors, 2012 and 2013; New York Super Doctors, as seen in the New York Times Magazine, 2014.
I was the first physician to perform the miraDry procedure in the New York area, a treatment which uses microwave technology to non-invasively treat long-term excessive, and oftentimes, embarrassing underarm sweat. The scientific term for excessive sweating is hyperhidrosis, a medical condition known for causing uncontrollable sweating through sweat glands. Prescription antiperspirants, Botox and surgery have been the most widely used treatments for excessive sweating, but without surgery, no treatments have proven as long-lasting and effective. MiraDry is a non-invasive microwave-based technology for the treatment of hyperhidrosis. Making the decision to move forward with a procedure can be a confidential and critical commitment to many patients, especially those who could experience life-altering changes such as the treatment for hyperhidrosis.
This is just one of the many medical treatments that has been fast growing within the dermatology industry, and more significantly because of the miraDry device’s exceptional benefits to patients with excessive sweating. I conducted a clinical study, where I found miraDry decreased excessive sweating by over 50 percent after the first treatment and after the second treatment patients reported over 95 percent decrease in the severity of their condition. I presented the study, “A Retrospective Analysis of the Treatment of Axillary Hyperhidrosis with Novel Microwave Technology” at the annual American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery meeting. Providing options such as miraDry, is just one of the many examples New York Cosmetic, Skin & Laser Surgery Center can change a patient’s life.
Please watch the educational videos below from various news programs that pertain to just some of the many different procedures I offer to patients. I look forward to serving both your medical and cosmetic needs.
