Broken Capillaries & Facial Veins

Redness and spider veins of the face affect millions of people.  While theses issues are not medically concerning, they are frustrating nonetheless.  Genetics plays the largest role in ones susceptibility to developing facial veins.  Additionally, anything that will make one flush or blush contributes to the problem.  These environmental factors include: extreme temperatures, sun exposure, wind, spicy food, and alcohol.  Rosacea is exasperated by the same environmental triggers, and can additionally cause redness, broken capillaries, and pus filled bumps.

Treatment

Lasers, specifically dye lasers, are the most effective treatment for the problems of redness and spider veins of the face.  Dr. Rokhsar uses the V-beam laser, the most advanced dye laser on the market today.  The laser works by emitting light energy that is selectively absorbed by broken capillaries and facial veins.  Surrounding skin and tissues are left unharmed.  Treatments are extremely safe, and can be done without the use of a numbing cream due to the on-board cooling system.  Patients describe the sensation as feeling like a light rubber band snap. Usually several treatments are necessary in order to achieve optimal results, and sometimes, especially for rosacea patients, touchup treatments are necessary.
